Our Vision
Who We Are
To Be a Community That Loves God, Loves People, and Makes Disciples of Jesus Christ.
At Spring Branch, we believe that life is better when we’re connected to God and to each other. We’re more than just a church; we’re a community of people coming together to experience God’s love, grow in our faith, and make a difference in the world. Whether you're new to church or looking for a place to belong, you'll find a warm welcome here.
Where It All Began
Spring Branch Community Church was formed on May 23, 1993, by founding pastor Michael Simone, his wife Gail, and a core group of faithful believers. With its mission of “Bringing Faith and Life Together,” the church hoped to provide a space for people wanting to learn more about Jesus, where they could ask questions, and grow within a safe and authentic faith community.
The first service was held at the Contemporary Arts Center and was attended by135 people. Its focus on the arts attracted seekers interested in learning more about the Bible. From 1994 to 1998, its membership grew to over 500 and the church relocated to Corporate Landing Middle School. Plans for more permanent facilities began in 1996, leading to the purchase of nearly 10 acres of the Godfrey-Ray Farm on Great Neck Road. On Christmas Eve, 2000, the church officially opened its doors at 1500 North Great Neck Road for the first time.
Since then, SBCC has continued to serve both the local community and global missions. We have experienced many changes over the years, but the core of our vision has remained the same. We are a community that Loves God, Loves People and Makes Disciples of Jesus Christ.
